Howard Zinn was an American historian, author and social activist, widely considered one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century. His landmark book, A People’s History of the United States, has sold more two million copies and is read in schools throughout the U.S.
THE TIME OF OUR LIES  tells Zinn’s personal history, including being a soldier who dropped bombs on Royan, France in WWll. This fateful act determined Zinn's life’s journey, shaping the man who would become a moral compass for the U.S. in ways more relevant today than ever. The play includes songs as well as first-person accounts from other soldiers, juxtaposed against an incongruously beautiful backdrop of Butoh inspired movement.
